Mall Grab: a way of incorrectly holding a skateboard (by the trucks), usually done by someone who spends more time carrying their skateboard around ‘the mall’ as a fashion statement.
The objective of this project was to address the challenge of traveling medium to long distances to a skatepark, especially when using a skateboard is impractical. The solution involves a bicycle attachment designed to securely connect to a skateboard. With this attachment, users can cover greater distances and navigate a broader range of terrains more effectively, without compromising saftey.
Uprights are versatile and can carry numerous items, more than just a skateboard, e.g. shipping bags
Two uprights easily hook around trucks of skateboard for easy interaction
Simple attachment and detachment, using nut and bolt and a snap fit allows for all users and different size thicknesses
Two attachment pieces allows for security and stops rattling, maximises safety
Simple aesthetics allows for wide target market
150mm height allows for slight adjustments in skateboard truck sizes, covering the main sizes
Standardised 30mm thread allows for easy replacement of parts
450mm tubing for standard skateboard length
